Our feasibility study into the possibility of a sustainable neighbourhood on the edge of Llandovery last year recommended setting up a community land trust. Some individuals who came to our public meetings earlier this year and expressed an interest in taking this forward are now fortunate to have been welcomed to join an existing community land trust from the Presteigne area.
This saves us having to start a new one, with all the time and financial costs that would entail. There will be a name change and change to its constitution to cover a wider geographical area down to the Southern end of the Heart of Wales line.
If this excites you we invite you to join us! If you want to know what a community land trust can achieve, read Catherine Harrington's article in Inside Housing about how it puts local people and their communities in genuine control, benefiting everyone.
